Barb Edson is senior vice president and chief marketing officer at CDK Global. She is responsible for delivering successful marketing and commercial strategies that help strengthen connections across the automotive retail ecosystem for CDK, its dealer and manufacturer customers, and the consumers they serve. She has more than three decades of business strategy and marketing experience in software and technology.

Prior to CDK Global, Barb served in dual roles at Optum, which is part of UnitedHealth Group, as chief marketing officer for the OptumInsight business and head of Cross Optum Segment Marketing and Strategic Market Intelligence. 

Prior to Optum, she held several senior leadership roles throughout her 12-year tenure at Microsoft, including General Manager of Business Applications and Data Analytics Product Marketing; Data Platform, AI, IoT and Industry Product Marketing; and IoT Cloud Services and Windows Embedded Marketing. Before joining Microsoft, Barb spent more than 15 years in leadership positions in marketing and product strategy within the technology industry, including Oracle and Great Plains Software. 

Barb was selected to complete Executive Leadership Programs for top talent through Microsoft and UnitedHealth Group.
